Electronic Submission
From now on, all manuscripts should be submitted electronically through our website which can be
accessed at http://gian2012.ut.ac.ir
Submission of a paper implies that it has not been published previously, that it is not under
consideration for publication elsewhere, and that if accepted it will not be published elsewhere in the
same form, in English or in any other language, without the written consent of the publisher.
Paper Submission
(a) All papers will be peer reviewed.
(b) Papers must be in English. Use professional help if English is not your mother tongue.
(c) Manuscripts must be in double-spaced form with wide margins. A font size of 12 pt Times New
Roman is required. The corresponding author should be identified (include a Fax number and E-mail
address). Full postal addresses must be given for all co-authors. The Editors reserve the right to adjust
style to certain standards of uniformity.
(d) Corresponding author and co-authors will receive one hard copy of the published issue free of
charge. Extra reprints and copies of the issue can be ordered from the Editorial Office of the Journal.
Manuscripts
Manuscripts should be typed in double spacing on consecutively numbered sheets of A4 size white
paper allowing wide margins of at least 3 cm on both sides as well as top and bottom. The title of the
paper should be concise and informative. It should be followed by the author's full name, academic or
professional affiliations and addresses. An abstract, not exceeding 200 words should then follow. It
should identify the main points of the paper, not be a repetition of the title and, as far as possible,
replace rather than supplement a "concluding" summary. The text should be divided into well-defined
sections, each headed by a caption, e.g., Abstract, Introduction, Materials and Methods, Results,
Discussion and Conclusion, Acknowledgements, References. Avoid (or define, at first use) any nonstandard
abbreviations, unfamiliar terms, symbols and acronyms. The telephone and Fax numbers of
the corresponding author should be included on the first page of the article. Authors are also requested
to provide keywords (5-10) for indexing purposes.
Electronic manuscripts
It is essential that the compact disk (CD) submitted for publication is the final corrected version of
the article and exactly matches the accompanying final manuscript. Illustrations will be handled
conventionally. The preferred storage medium is a disc in Windows XP Microsoft Office format.
Ensure that the letter "l" and digit "1" (also letter "O" and digit "0") have been used properly, and
format your article (tabs, indents, etc.) consistently. Non-standard characters (Greek letters,
mathematical symbols, etc.) should be used consistently throughout the text; please make a list of such
characters and provide a key. Do not allow your word processor to introduce word splits and use a
"justified" layout. Please adhere strictly to the general instructions on style/arrangement and, in
particular, the reference style of the journal. Further information may be obtained from the Publisher.
Tables
Tables should be typed in double spacing on separate pages and numbered in Arabic numerals
according to their sequence in the text. Each table should have a brief descriptive heading which makes
its general meaning understandable without reference to the text.
Electronic Illustrations
Submitting your artwork in an electronic format helps us to produce your work to the best possible
standards, ensuring accuracy, clarity and a high level of detail.
2General points
• Always supply high-quality printouts of your artwork, in case conversion of the electronic artwork is
problematic.
• Make sure you use uniform lettering and sizing of your original artwork.
• Save text in illustrations as "graphics" or enclose the font.
• Only use the following fonts in your illustrations: Times New Roman Symbols.
• Number the illustrations according to their sequence in the text.
• Use a logical naming convention for your artwork files, and supply a separate listing of the files and
the software used.
• Provide all illustrations as separate files and as hardcopy printouts on separate sheets.
• Provide captions to illustrations separately.
• Produce images near to the desired size of the printed version.
Colour Illustrations
Submit colour illustrations as original photographs, high-quality computer prints or transparencies,
close to the size expected in publication. Polaroid colour prints are not suitable. For colour
reproduction in print, you will receive information regarding the costs from the Journal after receipt of
your accepted article.
Units, abbreviations, footnotes
Authors are recommended to use SI units. If non-SI units are used, a conversion factor to SI units
should be provided. Widely accepted forms of abbreviations should be used. The full expression
followed by the abbreviation should be given the first time it appears in the text. Footnotes should only
be used if absolutely essential. They must be indicated by asterisks. They should not be numbered and
included with the references.
References
References in the text start with the name(s) of the author(s) followed by the publication date in
brackets, e.g., Jones (1960) has shown the importance of ... or ... has been described (Jones, 1960;
Brown, 1961)...; using chronological order. The reference list is in alphabetical order and typed
(double-spaced) on sheets separate from the text. The full title of the paper should be given. Examples:
Moore, J.N. and S.N. Luoma, 1990. Hazardous wastes from large-scale metal extraction: a case study.
Environ. Sci. Technol., 24: 1278-1285.
Novotny, V. and G. Chesters, 1981. Handbook of Nonpoint Pollution: Sources and Management. Van
Nostrand Reinhold Company, New York, NY, 89 pp.

Management Society, Washington, DC, pp. 253-258.
Proofs
One set of proofs will be sent to the corresponding author to be checked for printer's errors.
